Helgelandskysten

The enchanting coasts with 20,000 islands and a rich history. Tens of thousands of islands, islets, and skerries, some many miles out to sea, are home to birds, seals, and coastal inhabitants. Towering above the multitude of low-lying islands are the many mountains, whose extraordinary formations have inspired both sagas and fairy tales.

Have you not yet discovered the Helgeland Coast?

We believe that everyone should indulge in the Helgeland Coast at least once in their lifetime. You can travel by bike, kayak, or express boat, or even take your bike on the express boat.

Rent a car in Brønnøysund or Sandnessjøen and experience the islands of Vega, Herøy, and Dønna, where you will find a diverse and beautiful fauna, along with various experiences and places to eat. You can stay in traditional fisherman's cabins (rorbuer) or other accommodation options on the islands.

Further north, you will also find Træna with its pointed mountains and the neighboring island of Lovund, known as the Salmon Island of Helgeland. Experience the islands by taking the express boat from Sandnessjøen or Stokkvågen.

You will definitely want to return to the Helgeland Coast, as one visit will not allow you to experience everything that this area has to offer.
