Nordland has just about everything one could ask for in terms of experiences—whether at sea, in the mountains, in urban city areas, or in more secluded rural settings and villages.
The connection between east and west has, for generations, been stronger than north-south, and to some extent, it still is. This has led to strong and successful collaboration between tourism providers in Norway and Sweden.
At Book North Travel, we aim to continue these strong collaborations, both east-west and north-south, and therefore, we offer a variety of excellent experiences across our regions.
Some excursions are bookable for individual guests, while others are reserved for groups and must be booked via email with us.
Welcome to explore and experience Nordland all year round!
Destinations
Salten and Saltdalen
20/11/2024The sunny, summer-warm valley behind Saltfjellet is filled with wilderness, forests, and mountains, home to Norway's smallest hotel, art and nature exhibitions, and delicious dripping møsbrømlefse. The transition to the Midnight Sun is marked by wilder nature descending from Saltfjellet towards Storjord. The drama and beauty of the landscape can take your breath away from your seat on the train. You have been warned! Down in the valley, strong human encounters and a national park center await, enticing us to stay a few extra days. Fauske and Rognan are the two largest places in Salten and Saltdalen. Fauske is known for its large marble quarries, and Sulitjelma has a rich history related to mining in the area. Rognan, located by the Saltdalsfjord, marks the beginning of Saltdalen. The valley stretches upward towards Saltfjellet.
